More flowers are blooming! The Weigela has finally turned up with some pink blooms as well as white....and the roses are finally making an appearance!
The babies are here!!!! They have very little to no hair, but they're here and appear to be healthy!
Contrary to recent temps around here, it does appear to be Spring around here. However, I do wish we didn't have the tornadoes that have gone along with it!
Right now, it won't allow me to label the individual photos - they are (in order) Bleeding Heart, Azalea and Weigela. I will probably have a yard full of Bleeding Hearts one day! The Azalea is one of several that I got from Lowe's for $0.50 years ago - no that wasn't a typo. They were clearancing them all out because they had almost killed every single one. Proof that you can work with them and get them to live! This is the third year for the Weigela - got it on a REALLY good deal - and the first time that it's bloomed. (If it bloomed last year, I missed it).
Late last month, a bird was discovered sleeping an awful lot in a wreath at the front of the house. The cats were fascinated with the shadow of the bird flying past the window when the sun shone through.
At the first of the month, she'd laid one egg. Now we have at least three! She flies out anytime you walk onto the front porch though! Hopefully, she'll stick around for a photo opp soon. The neighbors will just have to deal with the fall wreath until the babies are born and ready to fly!
All of these were done with a Blackberry - for lack of carrying a real camera. These were done at the gravesite of a friend (the day after the funeral) and it was misting rain.
Back in January, I obviously got on the trail of reading all of the work of one particular writer. I was reading a magazine one day and saw someone mention her first book and since then I've been hooked! I'm still not quite caught up with her current stuff yet...but I'm close!!! Here is my reading list from January 1st (actually December 31st, if you want to be precise - but I finished Joe Bonsall's book starting the night of December 31st through the morning of January 1st - yes, less than 24 hours).
You can 'mouseover' at any time during the slideshow and it will give you more details about each book...if you have any interest. I've already started on the 2nd Quarter!
By the way, if I don't like them...I typically don't finish them and they wouldn't end up here!
